Call for Proposals

Washington Early American Seminar 2019-20

University of Maryland, College Park, MD/USA

http://history.umd.edu/research/earlyamerica

The Washington Area Early American Seminar, hosted by the University of
Maryland, invites proposals from scholars wishing to present work in
progress in the next academic year on any topic connected to Atlantic world
or American history prior to 1865. Genuine work in progress is preferable to
polished, already-accepted pieces and we especially welcome proposals from
scholars farther afield who will be visiting the DC area for research this
coming year.

The seminar meets monthly during term time and our regular members include
faculty and graduate students from a variety of DC-area institutions. Papers
are pre-circulated and our Friday afternoon (4-6pm) seminars are followed by
a dinner at a local restaurant.

To propose a paper, please upload a brief, one-page cv and submit a title
along with a 300-word description of the paper here:

Deadline for submissions is June 21, 2019.
