Western Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (WSECS)

The Eighteenth-Century Anthropocene and Biodiversity

Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO/USA

February 14-15, 2020

http://www.wsecs.org/upcoming-events.html

Please consider submitting a proposal for next year's annual meeting of the
Western Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (WSECS), which will be held
at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO, on President's Day
weekend, February 14-15, 2020. The conference theme will be "The
Eighteenth-Century Anthropocene and Biodiversity," with Joyce Chaplin,
Professor of Early American History at Harvard University, as plenary
speaker.

As always, we welcome proposals outside the conference theme on any aspect
of the long eighteenth century from all disciplines and geographical areas.
Paper proposals are due by October 30, 2019. Please send a 250-word abstract
to organizers Aparna Gollapudi (Aparna.Gollapudi at ColoState.edu
<mailto:Aparna.Gollapudi at ColoState.edu> ) and Andreas Mueller
(andreas.mueller at unco.edu <mailto:andreas.mueller at unco.edu> ).

Professor Chaplin has generously sponsored financial awards to waive the
registration fees for the first six early-career scholars whose papers or
panels are accepted, so we encourage our non-tenure-track colleagues to
apply soon. The society will also offer again the Helene W. Koon awards for
best papers presented at the conference by graduate students or junior
faculty members.

For information on the conference and the society, please visit the WSECS
website: http://www.wsecs.org/
