Interdisciplinary Conference for Scholars & Graduate Students

Chesapeake Studies: Change and Continuity in America's Estuary

Salisbury University, Salisbury, MD/USA

June 10-12, 2020

https://www.chesapeakestudies.org/

>From June 10-12, 2020, Salisbury University will host "Chesapeake Studies:
Change and Continuity in America's Estuary," the second annual
interdisciplinary conference for scholars (including graduate students) and
other professionals studying the Chesapeake and Delmarva region. We invite
proposals for presentations and panel discussions that contribute to the
scholarly understanding of the region from a broad range of disciplines in
the natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, and the arts. This
meeting is the second in a series of conferences to promote study of the
region with the hope of developing a network of Chesapeake studies scholars.

Presentation formats include oral presentations, panel discussions, and
posters. Proposals for oral presentations may be for a full session
including 3-4 oral presentations or for individual presentations; conference
organizers will attempt to group individual presentations in sessions of
similar topics or methodologies. Panel discussion proposals should focus on
specific topics or challenges related to the study of the region and may
include a moderator and up to 4-5 panelists. Posters will remain on display
throughout the conference with a formal poster presentation time for
scholars to discuss their work. The program committee encourages
submissions of group presentations or panels that are representative of the
diversity across self-identifications (gender, race, ethnicity) of
Chesapeake scholars.

Proposals are due by December 16, 2019, and should be submitted online at:
https://tinyurl.com/Chesapeake2020. For more information on the conference,
see https://www.chesapeakestudies.org. If you have any questions, please
contact the chair of the program committee, Creston Long, at
cslong at salisbury.edu <mailto:cslong at salisbury.edu> . The program committee
anticipates making its decisions and notifying proposers by January 31,
2020.
