This conference is in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the
founding of Indigenous Studies at Trent University and the twentieth
anniversary of the Indigenous Studies PhD program at Trent and a showcase
for the work of the Urban Aboriginal

Knowledge Network. It's a time of reflection upon where we've been, where we
are and where we're going as Indigenous peoples.

The conference organizers seek original works examining the themes of
Imagining and Creating Indigenous Futures, particularly in urban spaces
including community driven research, health and well-being, community
development, youth and child

development, urban indigenous identities, histories, ethics, governance,
language and culture, justice, and education. Other topics or themes will be
considered. The organizing committee invites scholars and community members
to submit

proposals, for: individual papers, panel sessions, posters, roundtables,
workshops, film screenings, and performances.
