Bruce Centre Fellowships:

Keele University’s David Bruce Centre for American Studies (DBC) is now
accepting applications for its 2019/20 Bruce Centre fellowship programme.

The DBC fellowship programme provides university affiliation for one or two
semesters, and upon request, office space and facilities, including computer
and printer access, for visiting scholars. All postdoctoral scholars with
research relating to North America are eligible. In particular, the centre
encourages applications from early-career researchers (post-viva).

The fellowships also offer up to £500 towards research travel and
accommodation. Fellowship recipients will deliver a paper for the DBC
seminar series on their research within a year of receiving funding. The
DBC will reimburse domestic travel and accommodation expenses for the
subsequent seminar attendance. Within a year of receiving the fellowship,
recipients will also submit a research report to the DBC director and a blog
post (c. 500-1000 words) for publication on the DBC website.

When at Keele (either for the seminar series, or for extended study), DBC
fellows are expected to make themselves available to postgraduate students.

Bruce Centre fellowship applications should be submitted to the DBC director
(d.t.ballantyne at keele.ac.uk <mailto:d.t.ballantyne at keele.ac.uk> ) by 5pm on
January 31, 2020. Applications should consist of a letter of interest
describing the proposed purpose, duration, cost breakdown, and timing of
research travel; and (where relevant) the purpose, duration and timing of
the stay at Keele. They should also include a research proposal (c. 500-1000
words) and a curriculum vitae.

Please direct queries to the DBC director, Dr. David Ballantyne
(d.t.ballantyne at keele.ac.uk <mailto:d.t.ballantyne at keele.ac.uk> ).
